Troubleshooting

Here you will find information on how to troubleshoot problems with our Rivals software.

Reporting a bug

It's not unusual that a piece of software would have bugs. They can be reported in the dedicated Discord forum. We will need your help with providing the following information when reporting a bug:

  • Details on your hardware specifications, such as CPU, GPU, operating system version, etc.
  • Describe, in full details, the symptoms of the bug(s). A recording is more than welcome.
  • Provide the config file, which can be found at %APPDATA%\.mn-mv (type this into your File Explorer address bar).
  • Make sure that it is reproducible on your end.
  • Other information that you think might be relevant.

Reporting a crash

Similarly to reporting bans or bugs, we want to make sure that any problem that comes from our side gets resolved as quickly as possible. The dedicated Discord forum can also be found here. But since crashes are usually harder to deal with, these are the bare minimum you must be aware of when reporting a crash:

  • If applicable, provide the crash log generated by the game. The location of the crash log can be found at: %LOCALAPPDATA%\M*****\Saved\Crashes\CrashContext.runtime-xml.
  • The log generated by our software, can be found at the same location as the config files: %APPDATA%\.mn-mv\logs. Make sure it's the latest log that matches your most recent crash.
  • Details on your hardware specifications, such as CPU, GPU, operating system version, etc.
  • Describe, in full details, the symptoms of the crash. This could be things such as: anomalies during the injection process, glitches in either the game or the operating system, or the software itself, leading up to the crash.
  • Make sure that the crashes don't persist even without using our software.

Again, please do your best to provide this information, as simply stating that you crashed means we cannot pinpoint the issue(s).

Game crashes on injection

When the game receives a patch (typically every Thursday), Midnight will crash the game if you try to use it before it's updated. This behavior is intentional.

There won't be any auto-update mechanism, as for each game patch we have to manually make sure the product is safe to use, best as we can. Following that, every customer will be compensated accordingly for the downtime.
